GKCU College Scholarship
If you or your parent’s are not a member you can join the credit union with a minimum balance of $25 to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

GKCU offers a scholarship every year to a deserving CBHS student.  Applications are due by March 15, 2019.

Winyah Chapter of DAR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Scholarship Requirements:
1. Pursue an accredited 2 or 4 year program or technical school in preparation for a degree or certification for career
2.  Attain a Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher
3.  Perform a minimum of 20 hours of Volunteer Community Service during the 2018/2019 academic year    Examples of Volunteer activities include, but are not limited to:  preparing/serving/delivering meals to needy, elderly or infirmed; participation in beach/river cleanup; organizing canned food drive; hospital, clinic or shelter volunteer; assisting with/at fundraiser for non-profit charity or community organization; volunteering for summer or after school programs for the needy or disabled.
4.  Provide SAT/ACT scores
Must be mailed and received to the address on the application by March 15, 2019!

Josie K. Claiborne Memorial Scholarship 
For minority students of SC majoring in STEM.  Must be a high school senior attending college in the fall with a B average or higher.  Scholarship is for $350 to $3500. Apply online at https://scholarship.aabe.org/ 
Deadline is March 15, 2019

 

Mildred E. Swatko Memorial Scholarship-Deadline March 29
This renewable scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Nursing or Golf Course programs at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Click here for the application.
Criteria
     *Applicant must have maintained a “C” average or better in high school.
     *Must demonstrate financial need.
     *Preference for this scholarship is to Nursing Program students.
     *No more than 250-word essay establishing why they deserve the scholarship.
     *To receive this scholarship for each academic year, student must remain in good standing with a minimum of a 2.8 GPA or higher.


Thomas W. Jones Memorial Scholarship-Deadline March 29
This renewable scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating high school senior or current student at the University of South Carolina’s School of Engineering.  Graduating seniors can access the application here, and current college students should click here. If you are seeking to renew your scholarship, please email kristen@mywcf.org for the renewal application.
Criteria
     *Applicant must attend the University of South Carolina enrolled in the School of    
       Engineering.
     *A GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required.
     *Applicant must have ties to either Georgetown or Horry County.


 

Sharon Malone Scholarship for Habitat for Humanity—Deadline March 29
This scholarship in the amount of $2,500.00 per year and is renewable for up to four (4) years is to be awarded to a graduating senior who is a dependent of a Habitat for Humanity homeowner in Horry County or Georgetown Counties. Click here for the application.
Criteria
     *Recipient must be a dependent family member of a Habitat for Humanity 
      homeowner in Horry County or Georgetown County.
     *The Recipient’s family must be in “good standing” with Habitat for Humanity. (i.e. 
      current on mortgage)
     *Recipient should express good moral character.
     *Essay of no more than two double-spaced pages expressing why the applicant feels 
      he/she should receive the scholarship.
     *GPA of 2.5 or better and must be maintained for renewal.
Nominations must be submitted through the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County or Georgetown County.

FOURTH CIRCUIT SPONSORS 2019 HIGH SCHOOL ESSAY CONTEST
The contest is open to all students currently in grades 9 through 12 from
Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Essays are limited to 1,000 words and must be submitted by April 15, 2019.

Howard High Alumni Association Scholarship
Criteria:
Must be a descendant of an individual who attended Howard High School.
Must demonstrate financial need, educational goals, and extracurricular and community services.
Must have a C or higher GPA
Applications are in the Guidance Office Scholarship Drawer
Deadline:  Must be postmarked by April 15, 2019


American Institute of Architects Scholarship
Any student planning to major in Architecture and is going to attend an accredited college with an Architecture Program should apply:
*To apply for this scholarship the following requirements must be met by the applicant   prior to and throughout the duration of the scholarship.
*NAAB accredited architectural school and enrolled in a licensure track Architecture     Program.
*Must be enrolled in a full time and scheduled for a full course load by the standards   and criteria of the college or university attended.
*
Must be a resident of the Grand Strand AIA Section Territory.

HGTC Scholarship Application
Application is for any scholarships offered through HGTC to their students.  You must complete this application and the FAFSA to qualify.  The deadline is April 1, 2019.

This is for students who will be applying to the Health Science programs at HGTC. A deadline is not listed so I would encourage you to complete it ASAP.

South Carolina Education Association Retired Scholarship
The S.C. Education Association Retired is sponsoring a scholarship for students entering a SC 2 or 4 year college/university and pursue a career in education.  You must also have a 3.0 scholarship.  The application must be postmarked to the application address by March 15, 2019.

Choppee School Alumni Association Scholarship
The 2019 Choppee School Alumni Association Scholarship application is available in the guidance office scholarship drawer.  The deadline for your application to be received by the association is May 1, 2019.  No Exceptions!!!


Santee Electric Scholarship
Any senior whose parent/guardian is a  member of Santee Electric Cooperative should make the Guidance Department aware.  There is a $500 scholarship that will be awarded to the student with the highest GPA and whose parent/guardian is a verified member of Santee Electric.


SC Farm Bureau Scholarship
$500 one time scholarship for a student in Georgetown County who plans to study agriculture or agriculture related program of study in a post-secondary school. Applications are in Guidance. Deadline to be received by the Scholarship Committee Chairperson is May 1, 2019.



Lions Club Scholarship
The Georgetown Lions Club Scholarship application is available in the Guidance Scholarship Drawer.  It is open to all seniors.  Applications must be turned into Guidance by April 8, 2019.


Key Club Scholarship
Carvers Bay High School Official Key Club Members:  Pawleys Island Kiwanis is now taking applications for four $1000 scholarships to be given to graduating seniors from Waccamaw and Carvers Bay, two to each Key Club.

Those interested in applying need to write a letter to the Kiwanis Club of Pawleys Island telling us about themselves, their activities and involvement in their high school, service to their community and their hopes and plans for the future.

Please submit your application to Mrs. Williams or Mrs. Owens by March 15th at 3:00 p.m.  No exceptions!


The Sun News Educational Foundation Scholarship
Applications available in the guidance office.  The deadline is March 29, 2019.


Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity $500 Scholarship
Applications available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 26, 2019.


George Rogers Scholarship
Scholarship for students who will be 1st generation college students whose parents or grandparents did not attend college. Click here for application. Deadline is April 12, 2019.


Ruthena V. Tucker Scholarship

Georgetown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship
The Delta Scholarship application will be available in the Guidance office scholarship drawer.
Application must be received by Delta Scholarship Coordinator by April 11, 2019.

The Classroom to Classroom Scholarship
This year, Education.com is awarding a $5,000 college scholarship to a deserving high school senior interested in pursuing a career in teaching. To apply, students must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Open to students from all states.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Accepted as a full-time student at a 2-year, 4-year, or technical vocational college or university in the United States for the 2019-2020 academic year. We will require proof of enrollment.
  • Intent to pursue an Education or closely related degree
  • Proof of strong academic performance, leadership, and community service (see scholarship page for details)
