CBH Sisters in STEM participants with their amphibious house

Carvers Bay High School Sisters in STEM group attended a workshop at Beck Administration Building to learn about the importance of women in architecture.  They learned of some very influential females that played a huge role in the development of architecture over the years.  One of the key concepts they talked about was the importance of the evolution of floating architecture.  They learned how architects and urban planners are turning to floating and amphibious architecture to protect coastal cities around the world from flood waters.  The ladies participated in an activity where they were given a few materials and challenged to build their own amphibious house.  The CB Sisters in Stem pulled together and worked as a team to meet the challenge.
