In a ceremony at halftime of the Bear’s first round playoff game against Garrett Academy Nov. 9 at Big Bear Stadium, Coach Nate Thompson was honored by members of the Carvers Bay Community for his teaching and coaching career at Carvers Bay High School.  Since becoming the head coach at Carvers Bay in 2000, Thompson has led the program to a 164-69 overall record including two state championships: one in Class 2A in 2002 and another in Class A in 2006. Among others, Georgetown County Schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Dozier was in attendance as well as Deputy Superintendent Dr. Celeste Pringle, and Thompson’s wife, Janet.
